At Julia Brendel Ltd, every fabric design begins its life as the embryo of an idea or topic of inspiration. Julia frequently cultivates it, invariably with an artist's brush or pencil. Her passion for folk designs, costumes, lace, and embroidery led her to widen the quest for artistic influence.
Mainly found in culture derived from diverse origins and influences of her Hungarian and Polish backgrounds. The fabric design process begins as a collation of ideas, paints and sketches, experiments, and trials.

Our designer fabric collections are made of various yarns to please the eye and fulfil the necessary technical requirements.
We have a fantastic medley of unique contemporary and traditional curtain fabrics at Julia Brendel Ltd. We are happy to advise our clients on heading styles, lining types and other technicalities.
We collaborate with many curtain makers across the country, so we can also provide you with valuable professional contact if needed.
Bespoke Fabric Colour Matching
We print all our fabrics in England. We pride ourselves on retaining complete control of the manufacturing process. As a result, we can offer a totally bespoke product to satisfy any client's requirements. If there is a product you need that isn't already in our collection – let us know. We can design a bespoke pattern for you or colour match our designs to a specific shade of paint, wallpaper, furniture etc.
The approach to fabric colour matching is uncomplicated. All we need from you is a sample of the fabric or a paint brand/name or code you would like us to match the colour to.
We will then pass this to our printers and their highly skilled fabric colour technicians, who will be able to match the colours for you. This process takes approximately 2 - 3 weeks. After this time, the new colour sample will be sent back to you for acceptance (please contact us for the current colour sampling fee). When the colour match sample has been agreed upon, we can initiate manufacturing, which takes 2 to 3 weeks to finish. Of course, the sampling process can be skipped if you would rather have your fabric printed straight away, without the additional sampling fee, but please bear in mind it might not be a perfect match.
We can also fast track our printing process for an additional fee.
Please contact sales@juliabrendel.com for details.
It is also possible to change the colours of our woven fabric.
The minimum order on bespoke colourways is 10 metres, and additional sampling charges apply.
The lead-time for weaving a new colourway is around 6 weeks.

From Textile Designer to Kent's Luxury Fabric Supplier
Julia Brendel Ltd is a family-run textile design boutique company. Julia is the textile designer, and her husband Gerry, a Managing Director working on all the technicalities behind the scenes…
Julia's collections are inspired mainly by folk designs from all over the world. Her parentage is Polish Hungarian, and that's where her first inspiration came from.
From the start, her inspiration was drawn from folk costumes from both countries, embroidery and everyday objects, linens and just beautiful patterns created by ordinary people striving to make the interiors more interesting.
Her interest spread from there to other cultures. With Julia's excessive travel experience, her appetite for designing new patterns expanded exponentially.
Being a lover of beautiful interiors, Julia started designing soft furnishing and upholstery textiles and home products like table linen, runners, throws, lampshades and cushions.
Fabrics For Couture and Dressmaking
Julia is also interested in edgy projects, so following some significant interest from esoteric clients, her fabrics have also been used to make dresses and items of clothing and couture. She doesn't like to narrow herself solely to interiors but to assemble a more versatile approach. Her fabrics can be used for making handbags and even shoes. Julia Brendel's beautiful fabrics are genuinely universal, from curtains and upholstery to shoemaking. Julia admires the synergy and recognises no boundary between what we choose to wear and what we dress our houses in. She has collaborated with theatres and entrepreneurs on many unique projects, including costumes for The Opera in Lodz, Poland.
Her work and home are regularly featured in UK and international interior magazines and newspapers like The Times Magazine, Elle Décor, The English Home, Period Living, 25 Beautiful Homes, Homes and Antiques, Veranda and many more.
World Inspired Fabric Designs
Julia Brendel Ltd offers a range of multicultural inspired textiles from Eastern Europe, The Middle East, Asia, Africa and South America.
Julia likes to concentrate on different cultures and celebrate their style and colour in their everyday objects and textiles. Julia Brendel ltd looks for fantastic, rich, and layered outlooks across different countries.
The love for a cultural medley is clearly displayed in Julia Brendel's textiles.
